Alexandra Shaw is an artist and researcher working at the intersection of art and science, with a focus on ecological systems and restoration. Her current practice centres on peatland environments, investigating their role in biodiversity and the climate crisis through moving images, sound recordings, photography, and material-based installations. She is especially interested in developing collaborations with scientists, ecologists, and community partners, combining scientific research, cultural knowledge, and artistic methods. By integrating fieldwork, critical theory, and creative experimentation, Shaw’s work aims to emphasise the ecological and cultural importance of peatlands while encouraging wider discussions about our relationship with land, climate, and the interconnectedness of life.
